WP2 A1 Study visit to the Leiden University and University of Udine to transfer know-how regarding on EU open science practices and transfer of know-how regarding the guidelines, mandates, and legislations underpinning open science in research and education

The study visit to the Centre for Science and Technology Studies, Leiden University (CWTS) was held from 17¬th to 19th May 2017. The workshop was organized and led by the team members from Leiden University: prof. dr. Paul Wouters, dr Thed van Leeuwen and Clifford Tatum. Participants in the three day workshop were teachers, researchers and administrative staff from partner institutions: University of Novi Sad, University of Arts in Belgrade, University of Belgrade, University of Kragujevac and University of Nis.

Centre for Science and Technology Studies, Leiden University is one of the leading institutions in the field of info metrics and studies of scientific research and its connections to industry and society. The aim of the study visit was to exchange knowledge in the field of open science and research data management. Current experiences and best practice examples on Open Science principles at the institutional (Leiden University), national (the Netherlands) and international level (European Union) were discussed between Partner Country and Programme Country members. Apart from CWTS representatives, many speakers from other institutions, such as national and university libraries (the National Library of the Netherlands), research institutes (CESSDA), publishing companies (Elsevier, Brill), other national universities (Radboud University, Delft University of Technology) and research associations (VSNU, DANS, SURF), participated in the study visit.
